Tennis Slam is a women's doubles tournament weekend at a resort destination. You come with a squad of eight — or we build you one — play five guaranteed matches from Friday through Super Sunday, and spend the rest of the weekend on the beach, at the spa, or wherever the group text decides. All skill levels are welcome and no rating is required. The first one is at the Omni Amelia Island Resort, October 22–25, 2026.

• No-ad scoring will be used for each game (receiver chooses which side for the deuce point)
• 7-point tiebreaker at 6 all score (in sets 1 and 2)
• 3rd set will be a 10-point tiebreaker

Honestly, maybe too much! You will play 3 matches on your first day with about 1.5 hours rest between each match. Depending on where you are in the bracket you could play 2-5 matches on the second day (these may rarely be best of 3x 10-point tiebreakers). If your team qualifies to play on Super Sunday then you will start in the semi-finals and play 1 or 2 matches.

Super Sunday is the finale: the top four teams play the semi-finals and finals, both on Sunday. It only takes one pair — if a pair from your team wins her bracket, your whole team of eight is back in. On Super Sunday teams play head-to-head, and if a matchup ties at two matches each, the pair from each team with the best bracket finish plays a 10-point tiebreaker to decide who advances.

Three ways in: register with a full team, with a partner, or on your own. You can sign up with anywhere from two to eight players — we fill every squad to eight — and if you pair up with a friend, you two play together as a doubles pair the whole weekend. No rating needed, and nobody gets thrown in with players two levels up. Here's how it works. Your squad ranks its four pairs, Line 1 down to Line 4, and each line only ever plays the same line from other squads. A Line 4 pair never faces a Line 1 pair.

Then Friday sorts you by results. Your first match is the only blind draw. After that you play pairs with the same record as you, so by Saturday you're in a bracket of pairs who play like you do. Whether you're a 3.0 who plays Tuesday mornings or a 4.5 who plays for blood, the weekend finds your level by lunchtime Friday.

We will host a tennis social on Thursday evening at 6 for players to meet and greet plus get in some fun play (number of available courts will vary) but no one is required until Friday 15 minutes before your first match.

Yes, we will be providing balls for each match plus sports drinks and bananas for recovery and possible heckling during your match!

Players may withdraw from the tournament for any reason up until 30 days before the tournament start date and receive a full refund minus a $20 administrative fee. After this date has passed refunds will no longer be available and registrations are non-transferable.

Sooner or later Mother Nature stops cooperating, and when she does we'll do everything we can to get every match in — delaying or shortening matches as needed to keep the bracket moving. Nobody wants to watch the weekend rain out, least of all the people who built the bracket. If the weekend goes ahead and rain shortens play, there are no partial refunds.

Hurricanes. Late October on a Florida barrier island means we plan for it. If a hurricane or a resort closure forces us to cancel the tournament, every entry fee and every villa package is refunded in full, no admin fee. We'd still suggest travel insurance for your flights and anything else you book yourself.

Defaults. If your opponents don't show, you win the match and keep your court time as a hit. If your pair can't play a match, you take the loss and stay in the bracket for the next one; nobody is sent home.

No, we gladly welcome all players and levels and this will not affect any ratings you currently have as this is just vacation fun tennis.
