the stuff everyone asks

Questions, answered

Everything below comes up in the group chat sooner or later. If yours isn't here, email us and we'll answer it.

What is the scoring format for each match?
  • No-ad scoring will be used for each game (receiver chooses which side for the deuce point)
  • 7-point tiebreaker at 6 all score (in sets 1 and 2)
  • 3rd set will be a 10-point tiebreaker
How much tennis can I expect to play during each event?

Honestly, maybe too much! You will play 3 matches on your first day with about 1.5 hours rest between each match. Depending on where you are in the bracket you could play 2-5 matches on the second day (these may rarely be best of 3x 10-point tiebreakers). If your team qualifies to play on Super Sunday then you will start in the semi-finals and play 1 or 2 matches.

What is Super Sunday?

Super Sunday is our tennis celebration of the top 4 teams for the tournament semi-finals and finals to really make the most of this fun and tennis-packed weekend! On Super Sunday teams will play together in a head-to-head format. In case of a tie (2 matches each) the pair from each team with the best bracket finish will play a 10-point tiebreaker to determine who advances.

How will teams be formed?

Please see our overview video for how teams will be put together though the key notes are that you can register as an individual or with a team of 2-8 players and if you do pair up with a friend on your own team you will play together the whole time! See more details in our overview video (opens YouTube).

Should I come on Thursday or Friday?

We will host a tennis social on Thursday evening at 6 for players to meet and greet plus get in some fun play (number of available courts will vary) but no one is required until Friday 15 minutes before your first match.

Will you be providing anything for each match?

Yes, we will be providing balls for each match plus sports drinks and bananas for recovery and possible heckling during your match!

Refund policy

Players may withdraw from the tournament for any reason up until 30 days before the tournament start date and receive a full refund minus a $20 administrative fee. After this date has passed refunds will no longer be available and registrations are non-transferable.

Rain delays and defaults

We all want to get every match in but sooner or later Mother Nature isn’t going to cooperate and when that happens we will do everything we can to get in all the tennis we can by delaying / shortening matches as necessary. No one is having a blast watching the weekend get rained out though to be far too honest since there aren’t any refunds at this point we suppose those of us running this thing don’t mind quite as much!

Do I need to have a USTA or other rating to play?

No, we gladly welcome all players and levels and this will not affect any ratings you currently have as this is just vacation fun tennis.

Can I register for an event if it is already full?

Yes and we will add you to a waitlist to fill in gaps if other players drop out. We will reach out to everyone on the list either to fill openings in order or let everyone know we are full (likely a week to a few days out from the event).

Still deciding? The dates, the resort and the full price breakdown are all on the tournament page.
